KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Negotiate best possible accommodation, transport and activity rates and terms and conditions for properties based in the Southern Africa Region
  • Identify new Tourvest Destination Management override partners
  • Maintain and Improve commissions with all suppliers
  • Improve Terms and conditions applicable to Tourvest Destination Management
  • Improve accounting facilities
  • Schedule regular face to face meetings with suppliers
  • Implement internal drive to increase supplier support
  • Maintain Supplier Mapping (supplier markets and international representation)
  • Drive Supplier Brochure Participation
  • Ensure all internal contracting deadlines are met as per company policy
  • Freesell and Allocation Contracting within designated region
  • Maintain current portfolio and increase Freesell supplier base
  • Increase supplier systems connectivity via various API’s
  • Assist in driving supplier connectivity internally
  • Improve relationships with regional Tourism body
  • Maintain and Improve all supplier relationships
  • Schedule annual/bi-annual training for regional tourism bodies
  • Obtain Digital and Print Brochure participation from Tourism bodies
  • Source new product according the Market and agents’ requirements
  • Ensure all rates are loaded and checked correctly and timeously
  • Maintaining accurate supplier information on Tourvest Destination Management Extranet
  • Running of supplier product analysis reports
  • Handling of all internal and external supplier and relevant system queries
  • Assisting in Minimizing losses within bookings as they occur with regards to requiring supplier assistance
  • Central reference for Business unit and consultants with regards to suppliers, rates and contracts

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Tertiary business qualification would be preferred

AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5 Years experience in negotiating contracts in the tourism industry
  • Knowledge of Southern Africa (Tourist attractions, Seasonality, Routes, distances and driving times, Places of interest, Geography, Transport infrastructure)
  • Supplier Knowledge (Property grading and room configurations, Vehicle capacity)
  • Financial Knowledge (Debits & Credits, Mark-ups, Calculating Margin & VAT, Cost of sales, Commission, Profit, Breakeven)

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Tourplan System knowledge would be preferable
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Picture Manager)
  • Adobe Reader
