PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- To manage all aspects of daily Sales and business development for the Globus Family of Brands environment.
- To implement all business development for the travel trade environment with the aim of growing the market and increasing revenue.
- Developing and strengthening the Travel trade relationships to gain further exposure of the GFOB products.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COORDINATION
- To effectively manage all aspects of Business development incorporating research and development for Globus Family of Brands products which includes Avalon Cruises, Cosmos Tours and Globus Tours within the TDM Global Sports division.
- Developing and strengthening the Travel trade relationships to gain further exposure of the GFOB products.
- Work with the rest of the sales team to develop business with the corporate environment.
- ADMINISTRATION & DOCUMENTATION
- Responsible for support administration within the Sales team.
- Attending meetings when necessary.
- Following up on allocated tasks given by management.
- Communicate with GFOB local and Global offices on various sales requirements.
- Reviewing and collating feedback from client questionnaires.
- Updating ZOHO (CRM system).
- SALES SUPPORT
- Assist GM Sales with product analysis for GFOB.
- Assist with customer and market mapping for GFOB.
- Provide necessary support to the GFOB team in all aspects of sales and business development.
- TRADESHOWS / SALES TRIPS
- Overseeing all travel, trade shows or road shows for GFOB both locally, regionally or internationally.
- Assist with Marketing and collateral for the tradeshows.
- BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
- Ensure all business units (incl. operations) are regularly informed about sales activities and achievements of GFOB.
- Provide consistent direction to all in the sales and business development division to ensure seamless business performance.
- REPORTING
- Budgeting reports.
- All sales reporting for GFOB products for trade trade and corporate markets.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly reviews.
- SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS
- Commitment to and building relationships with Tourvest Destination Management and GFOB
- Understanding supplier products.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Tertiary Qualification in Travel & Tourism and/or Office Administration .
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3 – 5 years experience within the tour operating industry, particularly in business development.
- Tourplan knowledge and execution would be an advantage.
- ZOHO (CRM system) would be an advantage.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong Excel & Word skills.
- Knowledge of customers’ needs and products.
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers for availability and rates.
- Good Tourism industry knowledge.
- Strong product knowledge.
- Sales driven.

The salary for this position is competitive and dependent on relevant experience.
