ACCOUNTANT

Description
Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially driven Accountant to manage financial reporting, ensure statutory compliance, maintain accurate financial records, and support budgeting and financial control within a dynamic tourism environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, reconciling bank statements and accounts, and conducting financial analysis, along with effective petty cash management.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices and payments, monitoring customer accounts, maintaining accurate records, reconciling statements, and overseeing gorilla permits preparation.
- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts, monitor budget performance, report variances, and support cost control initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and accounting standards by preparing tax returns, maintaining documentation, and assisting with both internal and external audits.
- Effectively update financial systems and databases with accurate data and allocations, maintain accounting systems, and provide insightful advice on enhancing financial processes.
Responsibilities

Qualifications and Expertise
- Bachelor of Commerce with CPA III or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a busy tourism accounting/credit management department
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and Tourplan System is mandatory
- Ability to do reports as required
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work in and build relationships among team members.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
- Ability to work long hours with minimal supervision, has initiative, and is proactive
- Accuracy & efficiency in handling demanding workload.
- Knowledgeable and can perform routine/non-routine assignments
